Product description

NINTENDO SWITCH BATTERY DETECTION CIRCUIT MAX17050 / +17050

A specialized battery detection integrated circuit (Fuel Gauge IC) MAX17050 (+17050) in a WLP-9 package, designed for Nintendo Switch consoles (V1, V2, OLED) and Nintendo Switch 2. The IC uses Maxim’s proprietary ModelGauge™ m3 algorithm, which continuously analyzes the cell’s voltage, current, temperature, and operating history.

Product Features:

  • ModelGauge™ m3 algorithm – ensures precise determination of the state of charge (SOC) and the battery’s actual remaining capacity without the risk of losing accuracy as the cell ages.
  • Comprehensive parameter diagnostics—simultaneous measurement of voltage, current, and temperature, as well as detection of whether the battery is physically connected or disconnected.
  • Low power consumption – just 25 µA in active mode and less than 0.5 µA in sleep (Shutdown) mode, which eliminates the load on the battery.
  • Event signaling (ALRT output)—automatically notifies the system when voltage, temperature, or desired SOC thresholds are exceeded, or when a cell is present.
  • Integrated I²C bus filters – built-in anti-interference protection on the SDA/SCL lines ensures stable communication with the console system.
